Dressmaker troubleshooting: can’t finish, stuck quality, broken sewing, no money

Start with the visible requirement panel and mannequin. Most blockers come from one unsewn seam, one missing panel, incorrect fit, an unmet requirement line, or a cash-flow problem that an off-the-rack burlap dress can recover.

02 / Steps

Follow the workflow in order

  1. 01

    Finish Dress does not appear

    Community documentation reports that every pattern piece must be on the mannequin and every seam must be sewn. Use the seam ripper to locate unfinished panels, then return each piece to the machine before delivering.

  2. 02

    Quality is stuck near 80

    Check fit before recutting the whole garment. Community testing reports that commission quality combines grain, fit, and stitching, and poor mannequin fit can put a ceiling on the final result.

  3. 03

    Sewing feels impossible

    Open the pause or settings menu and enable Sewing Assist, lower machine speed, and use R to reset a seam after the needle slips. Community guidance reports the assist steers toward the line but still lets you control speed and corners.

  4. 04

    The mannequin or camera stops rotating

    Drag from an empty area rather than the garment. If rotation still stops, community players report that leaving the mannequin view and re-entering it can reset the camera.

  5. 05

    A requirement still fails

    Read the requirement type first. Max lines fail when the score is too high, Use only lines inspect every cut piece, fabric shares use cut-piece area, and trim lines count only Lace Trim or Trim.

  6. 06

    You run out of gold

    Make a simple off-the-rack dress from free burlap, then sell the finished dress. Community players use this as a recovery loop; keep enough reserve afterward for the next client’s estimate.

  7. 07

    Sewing Assist does not fix the result

    Check the actual requirement that failed. A clean seam does not satisfy a missed tag, a forbidden color, a minimum fabric share, or a maximum score line.
